The right way to pack food for long term storage Best, Simple & fast!
Usually I have packed Non-GMO foods away for long term storage.
We have long grain brown rice, wheat- two types red wheat and white or yellow wheat.
Also a ton of barley…almost literally! We have worked on dehydrating some foods mainly fruit, while bulk storing others for that rainy day.
We did store a lot away not just for ourselves, but to be able to serve others.
We believe the day will come where we won’t be able to get to the store as we do now. Not sure what that will look like, but I do know what our food supply looks like!
How’s your supply of long term food? Do you have a week, a month or more? You should shoot for at least 3 months.
The beans filmed here are actually about 250 lbs and will last our family of 5 a year. My goal is 6-800 lbs stored.
The cost of storage is an dollar heat sealer, 5-6 gallon Mylar bags at about a buck a piece and a tub that was on sale for less than .00
It took about 45 min to store 250 lbs of beans! + cost of storage. Cheap insurance.
I hope this encourages to do this yourself!
